How to use car lights? What does it mean when the other car's lights keep flashing? What lights should be used when the road conditions are unclear? Teach the correct way to use car lights and help those unfamiliar with car lights understand the meaning of other vehicles' light signals.

[Turn Signal]

Must be turned on when the vehicle is turning, automatically flashing to alert vehicles and pedestrians in front, behind, and on both sides. The turn signal should be activated about 30 to 100 meters before the turning intersection. Turning it on too early may give the impression to the following vehicle that the turn signal was forgotten, while turning it on too late may catch the following vehicles and pedestrians off guard, often leading to mistakes. Taxi drivers should be especially cautious; do not wait until you are about to stop to drop off passengers before signaling a right turn. Also, remind other drivers to check their mirrors before turning left or right and remember to signal; this is the most basic driving action.

[Night Driving Headlight]

Commonly known as "headlights," the headlights are the "heart" of the vehicle's lighting system. Headlights should be checked regularly, and adjustments can be made at a professional repair shop to ensure the light angle meets the driver's line of sight. When meeting oncoming traffic, switch to low beam, and after passing, switch back to high beam to extend visibility. When passing through intersections or overtaking, use the high and low beams to signal passing vehicles. As the saying goes, "We are all drivers; courtesy comes first." When meeting oncoming traffic at night, everyone should switch to low beam; do not always use high beams, which can blind each other, especially for those who pursue bright headlights.

[Fog Lights]

Fog lights should also be checked regularly. In case of sudden heavy fog, rain, snow, or emergencies, they can alert following vehicles to take timely measures. Therefore, drivers must turn on fog lights when driving in fog; using low beams instead is not acceptable. Turning on rear fog lights in non-foggy weather can impair the visibility of following drivers, which is also unsafe.

[Brake Lights]

They are bright and used to inform following vehicles that the front vehicle is slowing down or stopping. Brake lights should be checked regularly; failing to replace damaged brake lights in time can easily lead to rear-end collisions, which can be particularly harmful to the cervical spine. Additionally, when replacing brake bulbs, note that vehicles produced in our country generally have "one bulb for two uses," with two filaments inside: the weaker one is for the small light, and the stronger one is for the brake light. Some manufacturers design them to be inserted in a high-low configuration, so when replacing, ensure that the technician does not connect them incorrectly and double-check afterward. Experienced drivers often do not brake suddenly; they tap the brakes a few times first to alert the following vehicle before braking. Do not slam on the brakes suddenly, as it may not give the following vehicle enough time to react.

[Nighttime Width Indicator Light]

Commonly known as "small lights," they are used to indicate the width and length of the vehicle at night. They should be checked regularly during maintenance. Some friends believe that small lights do not serve a lighting purpose and do not pay enough attention to them, which is a serious mistake.

[Emergency Signal Lights]

The hazard warning lights, commonly referred to as "double flash lights," serve as a signal to alert other vehicles and pedestrians that the vehicle has broken down or is in a special situation, reminding passing vehicles and pedestrians to be cautious. Many vehicle owners have not used the emergency signal lights (double flash) for a long time and may not even know where the switch is or how to use it. Vehicle owners can check the manual for their vehicle model to be informed. Some new drivers may feel nervous when driving, but even if there is no emergency, they should not use the emergency signal lights for an extended period. If used, they should pay attention to the internal sound prompts to turn them off in a timely manner (double flash). Emergency signal lights should be checked regularly to ensure they are functioning properly.
