The headlight system requires regular maintenance. The sealed beam headlight is modular, and when the filament burns out, the entire sealed beam is replaced. Headlights must be properly inspected and adjusted frequently, as misaligned lights are dangerous and ineffective.

As usage time increases, the headlight lens can become damaged due to wear from road sand and gravel, and water can also enter the headlight. The "plastic" (polycarbonate) lens can become cloudy and discolored. This is due to the lens being affected by ultraviolet rays from the sun and hard oxidation from the headlight bulb.
In more advanced stages, the actual degradation extending through the plastic material renders the headlight useless, necessitating complete replacement. Polishing or grinding the lens can remove the protective coating, leading to faster and more severe damage when it peels.
Vaporized aluminum reflectors, stored on a very thin metal, glass, or plastic substrate, lose their mirror reflection when dirty, oxidized, or burned.
The accumulation of dirt on the headlight lens increases, so we need to use lens cleaner.
